GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
a) Qualifications and Experience:
Please see the Information sheets containing details of the posts which will be issued along with
application form and can be downloaded from the website of the University, www.cusat.ac.in .
In addition to the usual relaxation of 5% granted to SC/ST candidates at Master’s degree level,
a relaxation in good academic record of 5% up to the Graduation level will be granted for
appointment to Lecturer posts.
b) Age
Age as on 1.1.2009: Professor: Not more than 55years, Reader: Not more than 50 years.
Lecturer: Not more than45 years.
(Upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates)
c) Other conditions:
The appointment against the above vacancies will be made as per UGC/AICTE regulations
and reservation principles according to Cochin University of Science and Technology Act,
1986 and Kerala State Government Rules. The posts earmarked for SC/ST are exclusively
reserved for them as per the provisions in the Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules. If
candidates applying for the posts of Professor/ Reader are not found suitable, they will be
considered for Reader/Lecturer respectively depending on their suitability.
