National Council Of Science Museums KOLKATA-Curator/Engineer
NCSM is an autonomous scientific organization under the Ministry of Culture; Govt. of India invites applications for the following posts:
(a) Curator ‘B’ – 06 posts (General-2, SC-2, & OBC-2) [1 vacancy will be reserved for PH]
(b) Assistant Executive Engineer - 02 posts (Unreserved-1, SC-1)
Scale of pay : PB-3: Rs 15600-39100 with Grade Pay 5400
(Total emoluments at shall be Rs 37,000/- (approx) in A-1 cities)
Essential qualification & experience:
For post at Sl no. (1)
1st class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Electronics OR 1st class M.Sc in Physics with one-year experience in research/design/workshop/teaching. OR M.E/M.Tech/Ph.D(Science) in above disciplines.
For post at Sl no. (2)
1st class bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 3 years post qualification experience in supervision of construction of large buildings/ Air-conditioning work/Structural work.
Job Description:
For post at Sl no. (1)
Design and development of exhibits, audio-visual demonstrations, teaching aids etc., development of museums section on various subjects of science & technology, organization of educational programmes for different categories;research on history of science & technology, museum techniques and evaluation of exhibits all pertaining to the developmental activities of the museum/centre. Assisting in day-to-day work and administration of the museum/centre.
For post at Sl no. (2)
Major repair and construction of buildings and installations and/or design, layout, development and maintenance of landscape/greenhouse/gardens/outdoor exhibits/live exhibit corners, air conditioning plants, preparation of estimates and tender papers and supervision over the work, design and drawing relating to work; supervision over the junior members of staff.
The posts carry all India transfer liability. Allowances such as D.A./H.R.A/Transport allowance are admissible as applicable under the rules.
The appointees of Curator ‘B’ shall be covered under the Flexible Complimenting Scheme for promotion after successful completion of requisite number of years of service to higher scales of pay up to Rs 37400-67000/- with Grade Pay Rs 10000/-.
