Essential Qualification :
For Carpenter / Rigger/ Painter/Pipe Fitter/ Electronic Mechanic/Structural Fitter/Fittters/Electrician /
Draughtsman ) :
Must have passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by the Government for all trades and must have passed the National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination in the trades of :“Carpenter / Rigger/ Painter/Pipe Fitter/ Electronic Mechanic/Structural Fitter/Fittters/Electrician/ Draughtsman” conducted by NCVT of the Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour Government of India.Minimum education qualification for the trade of Painter & Rigger be relaxed to VIIIth Standard, as it is the minimum criteria laid down to admission by NCTVT Board.
a) Structural Fitter :- For the Post of Fitter Structural the candidate must have passed
National Apprenticeship in Fitter Structural. Candidates who have passed NAC in
different trades but have worked as Structural Fabricator in Mazagon Dock Ltd on
contract basis may also apply for the same. And if sufficient no of candidates are not
available from the trade of Fitter structural, candidates who have passed NAC in Sheet
Metal Worker will be taken as Trainee Structural Fabricator for a period of 2 months.
On completion of training the Trainee Structural Fabricator will be trade tested and if
they qualify the test of Structural Fabricator, they will be appointed as Structural
Fabricator on contract basis for the maximum period of 2 years. In case of the
candidate failed in the trade test, their services will be terminated forthwith. During the
training period the Trainee Structural Fabricator will be paid stipend of Rs 5000/- per
month inclusive of all allowances.
b) Rigger :- For the Post of Rigger the candidate must have passed National
Apprenticeship in Rigger. Candidates who have passed NAC in different trade and
worked as Rigger in Mazagon Dock Ltd on contract basis may apply for the same.
And if sufficient no of candidates are not available from the trade of Rigger,
candidates who have passed NAC in Fitter will be taken as Trainee
Rigger for a period of 2 months. On completion of training the Trainee Rigger will be
trade tested and if they qualify the test of Rigger, they will be appointed as Rigger on
contract basis for the maximum period of 2 years. In case of the candidate failed in the
trade test, their services will be terminated forthwith. During the training period the
Trainee Rigger will be paid stipend of Rs 5000/- per month inclusive of all allowances.
c) Pipe Fitter : For the Post of Pipe Fitter the candidate must have passed
National Apprenticeship in Pipe Fitter . Candidates who have passed NAC in
different trades but have worked as Pipe Fitter in Mazagon Dock Ltd on
contract basis may apply for the same. And if sufficient no of candidates are not
available from the trade of Pipe Fitter, candidates who have passed NAC in Fitter
will be taken as Trainee Pipe Fitter for a period of 2 months. On
completion of training the Trainee Pipe Fitter will be trade tested and if they
qualify the test of Pipe Fitter, they will be appointed as Pipe Fitter
on contract basis for the maximum period of 2 years. In case of the candidate failed in
the trade test, their services will be terminated forthwith. During the training period the
Trainee Pipe Fitter will be paid stipend of Rs 5000/- per month inclusive of all
allowances.
Experience : Work experience in the relevant trade/function in a Shipbuilding Company/Shipyard and certified by their Personnel Department is highly desirable.
Fire Fighters :
Essential Qualification :
a) Must have passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by the Government of India.
b) Must possess Diploma /Certificate in Fire Fighting of minimum six months duration from a Government recognized institute.
c) Candidates must posses a valid Heavy Vehicle Licence.
Experience : Work experience in the relevant trade/function in a Shipbuilding Company/Ship yard
and certified by their Personnel Department is highly desirable.
Age Limit : The maximum age limit is 28 years & minimum not less than 18 yrs as on 16.01.2010
a) Relaxation in upper age limit is 5 years for SC/ST candidates & 3 years for OBC candidates
as per Rules.
b) Relaxation in upper age limit for the persons with disability is 10 years for general candidates,
15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC as per Govt. Rules.
c) The ex-trade apprentice of MDL will get age relaxation to the extent of their period of
Apprenticeship Training in MDL as per Government directives.
d) Age relaxation of 5 years for those who have worked in MDL on contract basis. Over and
above age relaxed at a, b & c above.
